Have you ever questioned God why? Did you feel like God let you down after your loss? In today’s episode Geneen Fitchett shares her SIDS story of daughter Madison and how to trust God when you don’t understand why. Geneen is an angel mother, college biology professor, daughter, friend and child of God. She became a mother on December 4, 2016 to a beautiful baby girl Madison Michelle Jones at the age of 31. She had a perfect pregnancy and created a home for Madison. Unexpectedly when she went to wake up her perfect little girl from a nap in her swing so peacefully on January 11, 2017 she was unresponsive. In this episode Geneen takes us back to that day and how she felt when she left the hospital without her baby. She shares how to trust God even when you don’t understand why and I know this episode is for you because we all have felt this way before.

She started her youtube and facebook community She Rises from SIDS to educate around Sudden Infant Death Syndrome or SIDS and create a safe haven for other parents to express themselves, and to impart knowledge for those parents who have walked down this road. Jewel shares in this episode how sharing her story and her journey is not for herself, but for the healing and deliverance of others. In today’s episode we have Bettye Williams who shares her SIDS story of four month old daughter, Bailey Nicole. On June 26th 2015, Bettye loss her four month old daughter, Bailey Nicole to SIDS. It was the most devastating, life shattering experience of her life. Trouble is inevitable in this life but when you lose a child, so suddenly and so unexpectedly in their death, a part of you die as well. One day while struggling to get through the day, Bettye fell to her knees and asked the Lord to not only strengthen her, but to open up her eyes so that she can see the purpose in all of the pain she was feeling. Bettye reminded him of his promise in Romans 8:28. After pouring her heart out and weeping with much despair, she stood up. Immediately she felt the burden lift. The Lord put it in on her heart to “just write” and that is what she did. Bettye created Bailey’s Dash Foundation with the goal of assisting other families who were grieving. She decided to share some of my transparent moments with facebook. Within three weeks, there were over 15,000 followers. She knew that this was a portion of God’s greater plan for her life.
In today’s episode Shawn Ware-Avant a mental health advocate shares her knowledge with us on Post Partum depression and Safe Sleep to help prevent Sudden Unexpected Infant Death Syndrome. Shawn has provided mental health and advocacy services for parents, children, and adolescents for nearly two decades. Shawn’s passion for treating attachment disruptions and parenting challenges guides her work with vulnerable families. She envisions transformation in generational patterns through parents empowered to become the change they want to see in their families and communities. Specializing in maternal depression and anxiety; family separation/reunification trauma and parenting support, Shawn assists parents (and caregivers) in better understanding their role and children. She is happily married with 3 teenagers, including a set of twins and a son on the autism spectrum.
In today’s episode Jameelah shares her Sudden Unexpected Infant Death Story of daughter Ryen who passed away at 4 months old and how she founded Ryen’s Divine Angels organization. Jameelah and her husband Luther found Ryen unresponsive and not breathing during a huge snow storm in Atlanta in January 2014. Jameelah fell into a deep depression with anxiety and even suicide attempts. With God’s grace and guidance, Jameelah defied all odds and came out stronger and closer with her husband than ever. They began using Instagram as a tool to connect with other Angel Moms and Father’s and that is how Ryen’s Divine Angels, a non-profit organization was founded in 2015. They saw a need to break the silence around SIDS/SUID through awareness, education, and the promotion of mental health through counseling and spiritual guidance. Ryen’s Divine Angel’s is hosting an Angel Mom Brunch on October 22, 2017 in Atlanta Georgia.
