From middle school to high school to adult hood who knew losing babies would bring friends together. Today’s guest is my friend from middle school and high school and her strength sharing her story on Facebook inspired me to share mine.
Janelle Jones is a women’s ministry leader at her church, singer, and has a testimony to share of overcoming loss, depression, and grief. She gave birth to her son in 2008 and a daughter in 2009 that she thought she was going to have to give up for adoption. Janelle heard from God to keep her baby girl and did not understand why until she lost her on Christmas Eve 2009. In today’s episode, we go back to Janelle’s decision to give her daughter up for adoption, losing her during the Holiday season, and how her friendships have stood the test of time. This episode is for you to listen to if you have ever lost a baby during the holiday season.

Janelle Jones’ Bio
I am the Women’s Ministry Leader at Greater Grace Church. I am the mother of one amazing son. Music is my passion where I am in the process releasing my first EP. God has been my strength through the years and has directed my path to this moment. I have a testimony that I believe will help several women dealing with loss, depression, grief, and other emotions.
Tell me about your journey to motherhood? What obstacles have you overcome?
I had my first child July 2008 and then my daughter August of 2009. I was going to put her up for adoption because I felt like I could provide for her and my son the way they needed. But while in church one Sunday I heard the Lord tell me that I couldn’t give her up I had to keep her. I didn’t understand it but I had to tell the family I had attended to give my daughter to that I changed my mind. Then I didn’t get it but now I have a true understanding of why. I loss my daughter Christmas eve 2009 a day that changed my life forever. I have overcome depression and blaming myself.
