Today’s guest struggled with fertility challenges for 4 years, and eventually, was able to conceive with the assistance of IVF. During the 4 years, Karen Balumbu-Bennett tried to incorporate several assisted methods such as hormones, IUI, acupuncture, and herbal supplements. One thing that she didn’t focus too much on was her mental wellbeing. Even as a mental health professional, Karen was more focused on solving the medical problem, that she didn’t fully realize the emotional toll of the journey until afterwards.
In today’s episode Karen shares her as a licensed mental health therapist @karenthetherapist while helping clients through the emotional rollercoaster that accompanies fertility challenges. We discuss her fertility journey and her new memoire meets guided journal intended to support those struggling with fertility challenges.
