132 – Stillbirth is Still a Birth with LaQuinda Johnson

Erica Michelle

A stillbirth is still a birth! “And once the storm is over you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, in fact, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm you won’t be the same person who walked in.”

Today’s guest LaQuinda Johnson felt exactly that way as she shares her journey to motherhood including losing her stillbirth son at 6 months pregnant. She takes us back on the journey to having her daughter, getting pregnant with her son and how it was filled with anxiety and fears, and the day she found out her son died in utero. This episode is for you to listen to if you have experienced a stillbirth because a stillbirth is still a birth.

Greetings, my name is LaQuinda Johnson, here is a little bit about me

– I currently reside in Atlanta, Georgia
– Occupation: Teacher (14 years)
– CEO and Founder of Ladiquin Enterprise.com

Tell me about your journey to motherhood? What obstacles have you overcome?

“And once the storm is over you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, in fact, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm you won’t be the same person who walked in.” I can remember it like it was yesterday finding out that I was expecting in September of 2018, throughout my journey of expecting my second child I of course had anxiety/fears as it relates to being a mother in which, I was unsure of what’s to come especially after finding out that I was going to have a “BABY BOY.” Obstacles I have overcome- Being six months pregnant with my son only to discover that my son died prematurely without any explanation (stillbirth) .
