106 – My Birthday Episode, Sisters in Loss Online Community, Magazine, and Conference.

Happy 34th Birthday to me!

Today is my 34th birthday yall! I’m so excited to celebrate another year around the sun. There is no place I’d rather be than in the guest chair myself talking about Sisters in Loss and the amazing Jesus year I just experienced. I can not put into words what God has done in my life, I can truly say that I’m blessed. I do have a testimony. I’ll save that announcement for another day, but I do have a request of you.

But First my birthday wish is for you to rate and review the podcast. Even if you have reviewed before your feedback means the world to me. It helps me craft a better podcast, produce more dynamic shows, and ensure we are meeting and exceeding your needs as a Sister in Loss. My prayer is that I receive 34 new reviews in honor of my 34th birthday. Thank you so much in advance for reviewing the podcast and for listening, tuning in, joining in the discussion in our private facebook community and so much more.

I’m so excited to share with my podcast sisters all that has been happening behind the scenes with Sisters in Loss.

100th Sisters in Loss Podcast Episode – MTY Retreat Experience and The Momference

100 Episodes we are here! I’m so thrilled that you are apart of the Sisters in Loss family. My goal when starting this podcast was to share our stories, stories of phenomenal, resilient, amazing black women to remove the shame, stigma, and silence around pregnancy and infant loss and infertility. In this episode I share my travels over the last month. My first stop was in Cancun, Mexico at the My Taught You Retreat hosted by Myleik Teele of CurlBOX. I share my experience and nuggets that were dropped from being in the room. I then spoke on a panel at The MOMference in Washington, DC where I spoke on infant loss and infertility. This is the conference for black moms, moms to be, and moms in waiting. I also share what’s next for the Sisters in Loss community and why you need to join us at SistersinLoss.com

Happy New Year Sisters in Loss!  Welcome to 2019! Today is a solo episode of the podcast where I share my word of the year and my personal infertility and growing my family journey.

Thank you to everyone who rated and reviewed the podcast this year.  If you have never left us a review please do so now.  Thank you to all of the guests on the podcast for sharing your story and your light during the 2018 year.  2019 is here and I’m excited about the interviews, stories, and journey’s to motherhood we will share.

So what does it mean to be relentless with our faith in Christ? Are we even sure we want to go down that road? Being relentless can sound noble and right, but it is also strangely elusive these days, especially regarding our faith.

As many of my US listeners know tomorrow, November 6, 2018 is Election Day and Midterm elections, and we have the power to change and shift the paradigm of maternal and infant mortality in America with our vote.  In today’s episode I sit down with March of Dimes President Stacey D. Stewart to discuss their Blanket Change Campaign launched on October 10th, and why our vote matters in this election, why the maternal death rate is getting worse as technology advances, and how working together with March of Dimes gives all new moms a better chance to be there for their babies.
