This episode is for you to listen to if you have ever felt like throwing in the towel with your infertility journey, but want to know what it looks like on the other side of grief, loss, and divorce. Benita’s Bio

My name is Benita Gordon. I am a black woman who is an entreprenuer. I have been in education for over 21 years. I am a sister, auntie, daughter, friend, educator, photographer, blogger, podcaster, plannerbabe, member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, graduate of Hampton University/ QT3 and proud to be from Lawrenceville, Virginia. I am a Christian. I am a mother in waiting! I am from “black bougie-ness”! Proud to be! I was raised in the church, you go to an HBCU, love the Lord, party but maintain some “ladylike” about yourself. Graduate, find a mate, get married, work hard, have a few kids, live a happy life. That was what we were taught to do because that is what my parents and my friends’ parents had done. We lived a happy life, do right. So there it was, the hardest part would be to find a mate. I did that. Married the love of my life (I thought). We were determined in our 23-year-old minds to start a family right away. I got off birth control that I had been on only my 4 years at college. Then it started, my body started to go off, not work correctly and it was all crazy. I had horrible cycles, I had a cyst to burst, we weren’t getting pregnant, Doctor could not figure out why. I was healthy, not overweight worked out, in shape, ate correctly. We start the investigation. The day I have my outpatient HSG turned into the worst nightmare and saved my life all at the same time. I had stage 4 endometriosis and the lesions had attached to my appendix and I was slowly dying as the toxins were being released into my body. I have overcome a lot and I am still pressing on after 4 rounds of IVF, losing two sets of twins, losing my mother, losing my marriage and still pressing.
